クラフトビールの定義の流用は難しい

このブログでは”craft beer”の定義についてご紹介して参りました。では、カタカナの”クラフトビール”はどういうものなのか？
“craft beer”と同じなのか？ということをちょっと考えてみたいと思います。
まずはBrewers Association（以後、BA）の定義をおさらいしておきましょう。（詳しくはこちらをどうぞ）

Small

Annual production of 6 million barrels of beer or less (approximately 3 percent of U.S. annual sales). Beer production is attributed to the rules of alternating proprietorships.

Independent

Less than 25 percent of the craft brewery is owned or controlled (or equivalent economic interest) by an alcoholic beverage industry member that is not itself a craft brewer.

Traditional

A brewer that has a majority of its total beverage alcohol volume in beers whose flavor derives from traditional or innovative brewing ingredients and their fermentation. Flavored malt beverages (FMBs) are not considered beers.

量に関して言うと約７億リットル以下としており、クラフト最大手であるThe Boston Beer Companyが2014年の段階で４億7000万リットルほどです。それに対して、日本の最大手クラフトビールメーカーでも300万リットルです。
桁違い過ぎて、BAの定義はそのまま使えないと思われます。文化や肝臓の強さ（笑）も違うわけですから、流用するのにはやはり無理がある。

カタカナの”クラフトビール”について日本独自の量的定義をしても良いと思います。もちろん、ざっくりと「非大手」としても良いでしょう。とりあえず一定の共通認識があった方が話がしやすいと思いますが、皆様どう思われますか？
英語とカタカナの間に何となく違いがありそうな気がします。その違和感を違和感のまま置いておかず、多くの方を巻き込んだ大きな議論になっていけば健全なシーンが生まれるように思うのです。
